it seems like everyone knows about everything.
i think i see too much during the day. as useful as things like youtube, amazon and googlereader are, sometimes i really wish i had to work a bit harder to get the things i'm looking for. there is no more underground- things get picked up, exploited and worn out in a matter of weeks. maybe because we get things so easily now, we've developed the tendency to take them for granted.

i want the feeling of finally getting something after so so much effort, (be it a physical thing, an idea or some news).

what's it like to be part of something secret?

I agree with you. Feel things more precious if gaining/earning or winning over with tears, sweat, or even blood.

as the saying goes:

"Mas dura la batalla, mas dulce la victoria"

my poor translation:

"the harder battles give the sweetest victories"

I know how you feel, but I also think that we have biased samples...

There are a lot of people out there who are not plugged in the same way, who are doing things we have no idea about at all-- who know things we never will, and will die, and their knowledge will be lost. Additionally, there are a LOT of people who know nothing of the "everything" you're talking about.

Everyone does not know everything... it's just an illusion brought on by information overload, I think.
